Normal-to-Oily Skin
Think of this category as a continuum, with normal skin at one end and oily skin at the other. If you have normal skin, you have a good balance of water and oil and tend to have:
• Very few, if any, imperfections
• Little or no hypersensitivity to chemicals
• No sheen on the cheeks or forehead, with sheen limited to nose and occasionally chin
• Occasional outbreaks
Your skin may also be normal in some areas and oily in others. This combination is a common skin type and may be due to genetic or hormonal factors that create an imbalance in oil production. The result is enlarged pores, blackheads and slightly shiny skin, particularly around what is often referred to as the T-zone (nose, forehead and chin). If this is the case, you may find it beneficial to apply a moisturizer for oily skin that contains mattifying ingredients to your T-zone, and apply a moisturizer for normal-to-oily skin to your cheeks and neck.
