When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? If you have to take a couple of seconds to remember, we’ve got a situation. You might not need that concealer if you reassess your beauty routine to help you and your skin feel great!
1. Clean your brushes.
You should be cleaning your makeup brushes at least once a month. How, you ask? Run the brushes under warm water and repeat up to three times, and then leave them in a bowl filled with warm water and a squirt from your facial cleanser. Swirl the brushes around, and wipe dry with a clean cloth.
2. Don’t sleep with makeup.
Speaking of cleanser, make sure you’re using one everyday before you sleep. It sounds like common sense, but you’d be surprised to see the toll sleeping with makeup on regularly can take on your face – it lets all your bacteria from the day just sit there! Let your skin breathe, it’s the only time of the day it gets to do that.
3. Update your products.
How old is your mascara? If its lifespan is longer than three months (we’re guessing it probably is), you’re setting yourself up for a myriad of eye problems. There’s nothing worse than applying the same products every day if they’re old – and if you use jars, think about the amount of times your fingers have been there. SO much bacteria!
